Definitions of a victorious life:
- Christian life leads us to always triumph (2 Cor. 2:14)
- God's gift of victory (eternal life) is given us through Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 15:57)
- Condition for victory: he who has faith (believes in Jesus) will overcome the world. (1 John 5:4-5)
- Live in power of the resurrected Lord. (Romans 5:17)
- Perennial victory by conquering over death. (Romans 8:37)
- Demolish strongholds. (2 Cor. 10:3-4)
- Claim victory by faith (confess our sins). (1 John 1:9)

- God is faithful. (1 Cor. 10:13)
Nothing happens without His permission. - We have a high priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses and has been tempted in every way. (Heb. 4:15-16)
- Conform us to the image of Jesus. (Rom. 8:28-29)
- We don't really know the truth until we experience it. (Mt. 14:22-33)
- Cast all of your anxieties upon God. (1 Pet. 5:7)

Exodus 14:13-18
God allows us to face our Red Sea in order to demonstrate His Power, build our faith and glorify Himself.
- The Israelites were filled with fear. They were not trusting in God. (v. 11-12)
- "The Lord will fight for you; you only need to be still (silent)." (v. 14)
- Move forward. (v. 15)
- When people fear the Lord, put their trust in Him, God will be glorified. (v. 31)

FULLFILLING THE MISSION OF GOD
- Sanctification in the Word of God (Jn. 17:17)
Jesus prayed that God would "set us aside" for a specific purpose by the knowledge of His Word...- Jesus was the revealer of "truth"
- Jesus is the truth
- The Holy Spirit is the "spirit of truth"
- The Word of God is the book of "truth"
- Mission in the World of God (Jn. 17:18-20)
Jesus prayed that the Apostles and all future believers would fulfill their mission in the world of God...- The Apostles and all future believers' mission must mirror the mission of Jesus. (Jn. 3:17, 15:26-27, 20:21)
- Reflection of God (Jn. 17: 21a)
Jesus prayed that the Apostles and all future believers would be a reflection of His oneness relationship of with the Father...- Jesus' prayer of oneness reflects the time of new beginning for Israel (Deuteronomy 6:4)
- Reception of The WORD of GOD (Jn. 17:21b)
Jesus prayed that the Apostles and all future believers' oneness would cause recognition and reception of the Word of God...- The love and unity of the believers cause the world to recognize that we are His disciples and that God the Father sent His Son (John 13:34-35)
- Unification/Salvation of God (Jn. 17:22-23)
Jesus prayed that the Apostles and all future believers unification would lead to the salvation of non-believers...- Jesus' prayer was answered (Acts 1:14, 2:1, 2:41, 2:46-47, 4:32-33, 5:12-14)
- Are people being led to salvation because CBC is focused on unification and salvation?
- Glorification of God (Jn. 17: 24)
Jesus prayed that the Apostles and all future believers would one day see Him for all time in His heavenly glory...- CBC should be in history preparing people to witness the glorification of God the Son for all eternity (John 1: 14)

Do we the people love what God loves in our homes, churches and government?
- Life (Gen. 9:6)
Antitheses: Abortion, Euthanasia, Infanticide, Murder - Marriage (Gen. 2:24)
Antitheses: Divorce, Adultery, Fornication, Homosexuality - Children (Ps. 127:4-5)
Antitheses: Abuse, Neglect, Intentional Childlessness - Justice (Lk. 11:42)
Antitheses: Laws that wrongfully take life, property, freedom and innocence - Mercy(Eph. 2:4-5)
Antitheses: Impatience, unkindness, injustice
Power of Jesus' Prayer
His prayer to the Father was for 3 petitions:
- for Himself, that he would be glorified so the Father may be glorified. (v. 1-5)
- for the apostles, to keep, protect and unite them (v. 6-19)
- for his followers, that we would be one, sanctified in truth that the world may know Him. (v. 20-26)
- that they may have my "joy" (from Greek, "chara", meaning "gladness, delight")
- "keep them from the evil one" (be holy, overcome evil with good)
- sanctify them in the truth, in the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. (v. 14-16, Hb. 4:12)
- that they may all be one, even as you Father are in me and I in you. (Eph. 4:2-6)
- being one take more than one (E Pluribus Unum: "Out of many, one"
- being one means sanctified in truth, His Word is Truth. (v. 17b)
Scriptures should be the basis for ALL our decisions:
a. private virtue
b. marriage and family
c. business and vocation
d. community service and ministry
e. citizenship duties: voting regularly and Biblically - being one means being in Jesus Christ
