Monthly Sunday Church-wide Prayer Meetings will be held on the second Sunday of the month, schedule permitting, in Room 163 from 12:30 - 1:15 pm. Concerning the NTT

  1. Thank God for Dr. Lawless' encouragement for all the sub-teams to seek God and to wait on Him. Pray for the sub-teams to diligently strive to meet the goal of producing a united church with a clear direction. Pray for patience and understanding as each sub-team works together to move CBC forward.
  2. Praise the Lord for the good progress made with the various AP sub-teams. Pray that God would continue to help each sub-team to accomplish His work in His way and in His timing.
  3. Pray that God would show CBC His vision for our church as we seek Him, and for the NTT to have God-led motives as we develop our vision statements.
  4. Each regular attendee would be seeking God with all of our hearts through Bible reading/study and prayer, that we would listen to God, and that we would obey God, especially in seeking God for His vision for our church (what kind of church would we like to be?). Also, pray that every regular attendee would make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3), and that we would be willing to give up something that is a personal preference for the sake of church unity (John 17:23).
  5. God's provision for our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being for us to effectively balance family life, church life and work life.
  6. For the Personnel Committee as they work on fulfilling the charter/objectives of the Staffing AP sub-team. Thank God for all of their hard work. Thank God for the calling of Pastor Andy Cherry to the position of Interim Senior Pastor. Pray for Pastor Cherry as he prepares to start work at CBC on May 4.
  7. Pray for a good and fruitful visit with Dr. Lawless and the various AP Subteams when he comes on May 9-11.
  8. Pray for the town hall meeting this Sunday (May 4) as the Governance AP Sub-team will be presenting and discussing amending the bylaws regarding Membership and Church Council.
  9. Pray for all the AP Sub-teams and the NTT as they will review closure plans by May 6.

Concerning our Ministries

Pray for the following:

  1. Pray for the Middle School and Children's Choir musical - "I Witness News" to be performed on May 10 and May 18. Pray that it will be a God-honoring event and help the non-believers (parents of Chinese School) have a better understanding of our God.
  2. Pray for the praise teams, speakers and all those who serve in the English and Chinese worship services:
    1. Sunday, May 4: Pastor Andy Cherry in the English service and Pastor Ricky Leung in the Chinese service.
    2. Sunday, May 11: Dr. Chuck Lawless in the English service and Rev. Andrew Chao in the Chinese service.
  3. Pray for God's wisdom and strength for the CBC pastoral and administrative staff to do the high volume of work.
  4. Pray that God would bring many to pray at one of the corporate prayer meetings and that God would reveal His vision to us as we humbly seek Him: Monday mornings at Mary Yee's in Sugar Land; Monday nights at Tommy & Mabel Ligh's in Bellaire; Thursday evenings at CBC, Iris Wong's in Katy, Wayne and Luz Gor's in Sugar Land and Leona Yeung's in Northwest Houston.
  5. Pray for the Mission Committee as they plan for a major mission effort to Saipan, June 17-24, 2008. Pray for the participants: Joanna Zhu and Andrew Tang.
  6. Pray for God to bring more teachers and helpers for Vacation Bible School, June 23-27.
  7. Pray that our members will be eager to sign up for different ministries in the upcoming Ministry Fair on May 18.
  8. Pray that God will use Pastor Andy Cherry to bring unity, stability and growth to CBC.
  9. Prayer for the physical and spiritual needs of certain people.
Concerning our Missionaries
