Prayer Requests
The Church-Wide Prayer Meeting is held on Wednesday evenings in the month of March,
in the Education Building (Room 134) from 7 - 8 pm.
The weekly satellite prayer meetings are at the locations below:
Please contact Mabel Ligh, Kathy Gor or David Liang
or the church office to join a church-wide prayer group.
Please note that the Sugar Land morning prayer group will NOT meet this coming Monday, March 15th due
to Spring Break. We will resume the following Monday on March 22nd.
If you would like for the Prayer Ministry and/or the Ministerial Staff to pray for
your needs, please indicate your requests by filling out the Prayer Request Form in the bulletin, tear it out,
and kindly drop it in the Prayer Request Box outside the Prayer Room. If you have a prayer request for a
ministry or committee, please come in the Prayer Room and write down your request in the Prayer Notebook.
Be assured that someone from the Prayer Ministry will pray for your needs. Lastly, if you have an unsaved
loved one that you would like us to pray for, please write their name in the Prayer Notebook.

Prayer Requests for March 11 - 17, 2010

Concerning our Ministries
Pray for the following:
- Pray for God to change each of our hearts so that we will be right with God (Psalm 66:18) and that we will pray according to God's will (1John 5:14-15). Pray that we will all have a desire to come to worship service. And when we come, we will worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24).

Pray for the praise teams, choirs, speakers and all those who serve in the English and Chinese worship services:
- Sunday, March 14: Keith Currivean will be speaking in English service and Rev. Andrew Chao will be speaking in Chinese service.
- Sunday, March 21: Dr. Jonathan Ho will be speaking in both services.
- Pray for God's wisdom and strength for the CBC pastoral and administrative staff.
- Pray that God would bring many with changed hearts to pray at one of the corporate prayer meetings: Monday mornings (in Mar.) at Kathy GOr's in Sugar Land, Monday nights at Tommy and Mabel Ligh's in Bellaire; Wednesday evenings at CBC in the month of March, David and Jennie Liang's in Katy.
- Pray for God's wisdom and direction for the Personnel Committee and our church in finding God's choice for the permanent Senior Pastor position.
- Pray for church unity based on John 17:23 and Ephesians 4:3. Pray that our words and actions will be edifying and based on truth and love.
- Pray for the Church Council (Pastor Ricky, Pastor Justin, Gene Yee, Nancy Lo, Sylvia Tam, August Lau, Mabel Ligh, Jimmy Ong, and Henry Wong) for wisdom and direction.
- Pray for the Women's Winter Bible Study for God to draw hearts to Him led by Elaine Chin on Tuesdays, by Donna Wong on Fridays, and by Connie Lee on Thursdays.
- Pray for the Chinese School ministry and the celebration of its 30th anniversary on 3/13. Pray for God to use this ministry for His glory.
- Thank God for a wonderful and blessed Prayer Conference led by Brother Joe Humrichous. Pray that CBC will apply what was learned, especially in regards to having a daily quiet time and loving one another.
- Pray for Easter weekend services: a) Kai Yuen as he plans and works out the details of Good Friday night service and Easter Combined Service; b) The combined choir-for preparation and for more people to join; c) Mimi Wong and the Hand Bell Group as they play on Easter Sunday; and d) The orchestra players-for Easter Sunday.
- Pray for the participation of CBC with Second Baptist Church in the Host Family program for Chinese students from China this summer. Pray for Kai Yuen as he meets with the coordinator in March.
- Pray for traveling mercies for all of those traveling for Spring Break (March 15-19).
- Pray for the physical and spiritual needs of certain people.
Concerning our Missionaries
Pray for our missionaries: Karen and Mitsu Nakamura, Cenia Wong, and others.
Pray for Jerry and Mitzi Mak as they reacclimate back to life in Houston. Pray for Jerry as he is looking for employment.
Pray for Bill and Aida Hamilton for God's leading and for God to help in working out all the details of their ministry in Brazil.
Pray for Pastor Johnny Jones for preparation to teach 1Corinthians (by understanding the Greek text) to the pastors in India in summer of 2010.
Concerning our Nation and City
Pray for President Obama that God would give him wisdom, protection, and strength to lead this nation.
Pray that righteousness would prevail in our government at the national, state, and local levels.
Pray that the health care bill will not pass in the US Congress.
Pray that President Obama would remove his legal brief in support of repealing the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which declares marriage is between one man and one woman.
Pray that the proposed late-term abortion clinic nearby Univ. of Houston Central Campus will never be completed. For more info, please go to www.texasfamilies.org or www.bound4life.com. Pray for God's people to pray and for each to do our part to end abortion in this nation, especially during the 40 Days for Life campaign from 2/17-3/28. Please go to www.40daysforlife.com.
Pray for many to sign the Manhattan Declaration at www.manhattandeclaration.org.
Pray for righteousness to prevail in San Francisco in the court hearings regarding redefining marriage. Pray that God would strengthen marriages in America.
Pray for Youth Pastor Aaron Morales and his church, Power and Joy Church, in north Houston for their preparation for a crusade among the drug cartel in Juarez, Mexico the weekend after Easter.
Concerning our World
Pray for the precious people of Haiti. Thank God for the release of nine of the Baptist workers from Idaho that were arrested for trying to assist children gathered from the disaster zone. Pray for the release of one more Baptist worker who is still being held as a prisoner.
Pray for the precious people of Chile for comfort and peace and healing for the injured.
Pray for the US troops and other NATO allied troops who are fighting courageously in Afghanistan.
Thank God for giving the people of Iraq courage to vote their convictions this past Sunday.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalm 122:6)
