University of Houston Outreach Ministry

June 1 - 30 / CBC Office Stairway

Collecting any home goods donations for the UH International Students who are coming in the fall. Please donate the home goods such as bedding, kitchenware, small appliances, and basic small furniture. Any used or new items are greatly appreciated. Please drop it under the stairway in front of the CBC Office for the whole month of June.

Youth Community Service Project

Save the date: Community Service Projects for the Youth will be on Saturday, June 14, Monday, June 16 - Thursday, June 19. These projects will focus on supporting our senior adult members, refugees, and single parents in meaningful and practical ways. All youth are encouraged to participate and make a difference in our community. We are also seeking adult volunteers who are willing to help these youth transport from CBC to the project site. Please save the date from Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27, 2025 for Vacation Bible Camp (9:00 am 12:00 pm) and Kids Chinese Camp (1:00 - 5:00 pm to learn Chinese Bible verse, calligraphy, games, and activities) at CBC. Both events are open for children ages 4 to 12 years old. Registration is now open. VBC/KCC Onsite Registration is open every Sunday in June between the two worship services (from 10:45 - 11:15 am) and after service (from 12:15 - 1:00 pm) in the Worship Center foyer. Lillie W. Ligh and Maria L. Gor Memorial Scholarships and Travis & Thelma Key Scholarship

Chinese Baptist Church (CBC) is now accepting applications for our annual Scholarship Program for the Lillie W. Ligh and Maria L. Gor Memorial Scholarships and Travis & Thelma Key Scholarship. These scholarships are open to students who plan to attend seminary or college in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year to pursue courses of study leading to a bachelor/graduate degree, or a theology degree. Applicants must be active members of our CBC community. The goal of this scholarship is to support and invest in the educational journey of our members who are pursuing excellence both in the classroom and in their walk with Christ. Awards will be based on Chinese Baptist Church Scholarship Committee evaluation of application, academic standing, and the need for financial aid. The online application consists of two (2) parts: all parts of the application must be submitted and completed by June 30, 2025. Independence Day Combined Worship Service

Combined Worship Service in observance of Independence Day will be on Sunday, July 6 at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary. The Church-wide Prayer meeting will be part of the Worship Service. A Church-wide Picnic event will follow in the FLC. There will be a dessert contest with a “Red-White-Blue” theme (Patriotic and Christian dessert): please bring your desserts on Sunday morning, July 6 at 9:45 am in the FLC. There’s also a Paper Plane contest, judging on 2 categories: distance and accuracy). Please see details on the flyer below.

Parking Lot Spaces Reserved On July 20: Please note that on Sunday, July 20, all cars parked in the first two rows of spaces in front of the Sanctuary must depart by 2:00 pm to allow parking for the buses returning from Camp Impact.

Discovery Camp and Camp Impact will be on July 20-23, 2025 (D-Camp - MS) and July 23-27, 2025 (Impact - HS). Dcamp is open to incoming 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. Impact is open to incoming 10th, 11th, 12th and graduated seniors. The location this year is Boxwoods (brand new site) by Camp Cho Yeh. Mission Trips 2025

  • Galveston, Texas (Youth) Update:

    Spring Break Youth Disaster Relief Work with BOUNCE Mission, March 12 - 15 in Galveston. Thank you for praying, giving, and supporting the Youth Spring Break Missions. Twelve youths from CBC, Northwest CBC and Home2Nations BC joined the Texas Baptists Bounce Missions. View the video summary

  • Dallas, Texas Crossover Evangelism Community Work with Crossover Dallas - North American Mission Board, June 6 - 8. CBC will work with 2 Arlington churches in evangelism and block party outreaches. Please pray for CBC Team: Matthew Younger, Daying Gao, Grace and Hon Man Lee.   • Cambodia: CBC is partnering with a Christian organization called Pleroma Missions in Cambodia to minister to girls rescued from trafficking and sexual abuse. Please also pray for Catherine Yen, Charlize Cheung and Therese Chen on the CBC Team.

    • Cambodia Mission Trip Support:

      CBC is sending a team to Cambodia this summer, June 29-July 6, 2025, to work with an anti-trafficking ministry that provides healing and restoration to rescued girls.
