Core Values
Youth Membership

MEANINGFUL YOUTH MEMBERSHIP: A foundational element of our youth group depends on how we understand meaningful membership. The idea of membership allows us to focus our programming, vision, direction in a healthy manner.

  1. The members of a church should be Christians (Acts 2:41, 47; Rom. 1:7, 1 Cor. 1:2). While our hope is that all students feel loved and welcome in this youth group, we qualify those who are confessing Christian and those who have willfully submitted themselves to the church through baptism to be members of the church. We acknowledge that everyone who shows up to the youth is valuable, not all are members (yet).
  2. We believe that church membership is simply a church’s responsibility to disciple the Christian and hold the Christian accountable for what they have personally professed as a disciple of Jesus. Membership also has to do with the Christian belonging and serving the community in which they are a member.
  3. The members of a church should have certain biblical privileges and responsibilities. The members of a local church should have the privilege of being admitted to the Lord’s Supper. They also have the responsibility to:
    1. Attendance and participation
    2. Pray for the church
    3. Be in transparent relationships with other church members in which they care for, encourage, rebuke, teach and learn from each other (Eph. 4:15-16)
    4. Submit to the church’s leadership and teaching (Heb. 13:17)
    5. Promote unity in the body (Eph. 4:3)
    6. Financially support the church’s ministry (Gal. 6:6).Use the spiritual gifts God has given them to build up the body however they can (1 Cor. 12:7)
Parents

Youth ministry is impossible without the active involvement and partnership of their parents. It's our goal to never become the primary discipler in our youth's lives, but instead to equip, enable and empower parents to lead gospel-centered families.
