WELCOME

Welcome to CBC Youth Ministry! On this page you'll find out about who we are, what we have to offer, how you can plug in, and what we do. We're a part of the ministry here at CBC but we focus our attention on those who are between 6th grade to 12th grade. If you come you'll notice that although the majority of us "look alike" we're actually from all different backgrounds, we all have different issues, and no, we're not all related. So trust us, you're not alone. You never have to pretend to be someone you're not. It's because we believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ meets us where we're at and changes us. Welcome again to our ministry, we hope we can help you see the beauty of the Gospel.

WHO WE ARE

CBC Chinese School Commencement 2015 from Chinese Baptist Church on Vimeo.

All families have certain characteristics. Some may be tall, some athletic, some light some dark, some musically talented, etc. We call those family traits. Here at CBC Youth, we have our own family traits that we call "core values" and those are just characteristics that define who we are. If you'd like a full description, please download CBC Youth Core Values (for Leaders).

WHAT WE HAVE

Small Groups

Small groups are held at various times and various locations throughout the week and throughout the city of Houston. We offer small groups as a way for students of the same-sex to engage with one another in accountability and study and prayer.

Sunday School

From 11:00 - 11:30 am, students will gather in the FLC for announcements. At 11:30 am - 12:20 pm, students are dismissed to Sunday School. Sunday School for us is a time of study and learning. It looks and feels more like college classes but don't be scared; it's not that bad. Actually, we wanted to take our study and learning a bit more seriously so our Sunday School program is our main way of teaching for this youth ministry.

We want to equip and train our students to understand certain biblical and theological foundations. Our goal is that they might learn and be transformed so that they might live life to its fullest as it centers around Jesus.

We believe that Sunday school is for the equipping and training of the Christian in his/her faith. We believe that the believer ought to be challenged to grow in these areas of theology and doctrine. We also believe that visitors are more than welcome to join and learn. We believe that Sunday School is necessary and beneficial. We expect that each student attend each class, respect the subject and teacher, actively participate, and be accountable for their own learning.

Special Events

We also provide large events that fit the theme of the year. Some will be smaller, local events geared towards just our youth group while others are joint events with other churches in the city, country, and around the world. Please keep checking our calendar for updates.
