Crossroads is the name of the new community growing at Chinese Baptist Church for single adults age 35 and up
If you fit our description, please come join us.
One of the definitions of "crossroads" in the dictionary is "point at which a vital decision must be made". We hope this fellowship group provides a place to be connected to others, so that we can use the wealth of experience God has given each of us, to help each other along the journey through life and at the crossroads. Through shared activities, conversations, experiences, and prayers, we envision Crossroads becoming a place to share your needs and your joys as well as a place to grow in your relationship with the Lord.
Crossroads has a steering committee to seek God's guidance in organizing activities and to do the administrative tasks to keep the group growing.
Crossroads is developing its communications network. Most of the information you receive from us will be in the form of email. The email can come from any of the members of the steering committee as well as the official email address for CBC Crossroads: cbc_crossroads@yahoo.com (There is an underscore between cbc and crossroads). We will be sending invitations to some of our events from evite.com. I am telling you all this so you will recognize our communications when they come to you. If you don't want to receive email from us, write to our email address and it will stop. Events will also be announced in the church bulletin and on the church website: www.cbchouston.org.
Crossroads' steering committee is excited about this new ministry. We look forward to meeting you at our events!

A PennyWise Resale Center is opening on Hwy 6. In the 18 years since its inception,
PennyWise has been an integral part of the Fort Bend County Women's Center's efforts to
help survivors of domestic abuse not only from Fort Bend, but from Harris and other surrounding counties. PennyWise's sales are the second
largest source of revenue for the Women's Center.
PennyWise depends on the community to donate clothing, furniture, household items
and automobiles, and the Women's Center and its clients are grateful to the community
for providing so generously.
Women and children often come to the Women's Center's Emergency Shelter with nothing
but the clothes on their backs. Net proceeds from PennyWise Centers underwrite the
services the Women's Center provides to help these women get back on their feet. For
instance, job training programs and classes on smart budgeting help prepare women to
support themselves and their children. PennyWise stores also benefit survivors of abuse
by offering them the items necessary for building an independent household without any
charge.
